Description of ServicesTherapeutic Massage: Massage tailored to a specific problem. Can be very relaxing, as well as therapeutic. See more on Biography page. Quick Relief Massage: Book a 30-minute therapeutic (table) massage OR a no-muss 15-minute or 30-minute chair massage for stress relief concentrated on the neck and shoulders. Relaxation Massage for Stress: Prolonged effects of lingering, unresolved stress can predispose a person to disease, depression and/or anxiety, chronic conditions, pain syndromes, and more. Relaxation massage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation) to reverse the production of stress hormones. This leaves you feeling calm, loose, at ease, laid back, *super cool,* and relaxed plus has other health benefits. Read below about "regular health maintenance massage." For a truly relaxing experience, it is recommended that you book a 90-minute massage.
Recovery from injury or surgery: Different types of massage throughout the healing process can help reduce swelling, promote nutrition and cellular exchange, reduce tightness, increase pain-free motion, help restore proper neurological function, promote normal parallel alignment of the healing fibers. Scar tissue formation can permanently limit range of motion and muscle performance due to dense adhesions and improper alignment of healing fibers. Massage can help reduce or prevent scar tissue formation during the healing process.
Relax before chiropractor appointment: A quick 30-minute relaxation appointment before you see your chiropractor can help make adjustments easier. Call or book online to coordinate with your chiropractic appointment.
Regular Health Maintenance Massage: Many clients choose to come in regularly for the numerous health benefits of massage (read "Facts About Massage and Your Health" or click the tab at the top of the page). Depending on your stress level, you may choose to come in for regular weekly, biweekly, or monthly appointments. |
Specialty MassagesMobile Massage: Mobile chair or table comes to your location (by special arrangement only) to provide convenient service to your employees, or in-home for a home-bound family member, or invite me to your fair or event. Rhythm Massage: Massage techniques are performed in rhythm to music with a beat. Designed for those who love musical rhythm and want therapeutic benefit, but prefer to be more invigorated rather than sleepy, so you can get on with your work and business. Hot Stone Massage: Smooth stones of many sizes are collected from the Missouri River for their ability to retain heat for a long period of time. They are warmed in hot water and slowly glided along oiled skin to accompany a therapeutic or relaxing massage. The warmth radiates deep into the muscles relieving aching and soreness and achieving an overall deep relaxation. Here's what one woman says about her experience: "My all-time favorite has to be the Sports Massage: Mobile unit comes to your event to help get you ready for your athletic performance, as well as for recovery massage afterward. Or visit the office for maintenance massages between events.
Child Massage: A short massage with a parent present can relax your child by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. Great for children diagnosed with ADHD, for stress relief, and to help with sleep. See more about the parasympathetic nervous system on the page "Facts About Massage and Your Health." I can give you tips on how to massage your own child to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. Great for parent/child bonding at bedtime.
Hand and Foot Massage with Reflexology: A hand and foot massage can give you the same benefits as regular massage. Bonnie gives you a relaxing hand and foot massage including some reflexology, which is the application of pressure to certain points in the hands and feet. Reflexology stimulates nerve endings in the hands and feet and results in responses elsewhere in the body. . . . Or choose just hand massage or just foot massage for 1/2 hour. Hand massage may include some work on forearms, and foot massage may include some work on calves for certain problems.
Pregnancy Massage: Massage tailored for your specific trimester can help with relaxation, musculoskeletal aches and pains, and fluid retention.
Shiatsu Style Table Massage: This massage is performed fully clothed on the massage table with just your shoes off. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow for stretches of your limbs. You must have a healthy back and other joints to accommodate stretches. |
